  • Welcome to Hamburg’s largest balcony: The unique observation deck is now accessible to public and gives you the chance to see the city through from a different perspective!

The way to the Plaza is part of the big Elbphilharmonie experience. From the main entrance the "Tube", Europe’s longest and first curved escalator, takes you 82 meters up to the 6th floor of the Kaispiecher. Experience a fascinating ride through the old Kaispeicher building, up to the intermediate level that offers the most beautiful view of the Elbe, harbour and Landungsbrücken. Moreover, on this level you also have access to the Restaurant Störtebeker

After a short ride with the escalator up to the 8th floor, you will arrive at the Elbphilharmonie Plaza located between the old warehouse and the modern glass structure. At a height of 37 metres, the platform provides visitors with a breath taking 360° view of the city and the harbour. In addition, the Plaza with over 4.000 square metres is larger than the Hamburger Rathausmarkt! Every aspect of the Elbphilharmonie is spectacular, even the Plaza is an exceptional place with particular structural challenges. From the wave-like rooftop to their sound-absorbing substructure, to the arrangement of the specially produced floor clinkers up to the wind deflectors, which are stable based on geometry and the glass strength.

Since 5 November 2016 the Plaza is not restricted to concert visitors or hotel and restaurant guests anymore. Now everyone, has the chance to enjoy the magnificent view over Hamburg.
